The great thing about using Heat and Screed is there is far less chance of damage to in screed heating pipes, a Heat and Screed Solution is finishing trade, The timeline for installation for a house is at what is commonly known as lockup stage, the roof is on, windows and doors are on and the house is sealed from the elements and intruders, there is only the screed installers that can damage the pipe which is pretty much impossible to do unlike the old way of installing the pipes in a concrete slab with concrete workers and vibration machines. Some installers that still do things the old way allow for a much stronger higher cost pipe to try mitigate the risk of damage during installation.
Manifolds are where the water from the heat source (ie heat pump) is pumped to, and distributed to the floor circuits

With some systems manifolds can be used to zone certain rooms by using actuators and controls, so you can set certain rooms and zones at different temperatures, our Heat and screed methodology recommends using the least amount of zones and keeping all areas as one comfortable heated/cooled zone, Why ? It simplifies the system increases efficiency and comfort levels has a lower installation cost and reduces risk and maintenance costs.
